Hi, finally ive started my world trip. Nepal: My first destination. Reason i choose nepal because of the budget. The budget i had can only afford to go to nepal. So here the experience i had. I started my journey with my friend so called AMIT. As we’re on budget trip, that too decided on the last moments, as usual with me. As my holiday as sanctioned last minute.
Our journey took completely backpack. We took train route to reach Nepal. From Thane to Gorakhpur and from there to Sunauli to Nepal Boarder. The Train journey as little hectic as we didnt had confirmed ticket, both the ways. So the journey was long-36hrs, but by accidentally we had good companion in the train, who offered their place to sleep and seat.
So, after 36 hrs of journey, we reached gorakhpur, in the morning around 11. We decided to have breakfast, before we leave to sunauli by bus. To reach sunali, which nepal boarder, we took 3hrs appox, and finally we reached to Nepal boarder.
After sunauli, one has to take car or hand riskshaw to enter nepal. (To across the actual nepal-india boarder). Finally now we’re in Nepal. But guess wot, Nepal was called for bandh tht day. The reason came to know was becoz of petrol hike. So we decided to settle ourself nr the bus depot, whr we decided to go Katmandu, the capital of Nepal. As nothing was there to see around, we decided to drink. Around 6, we took the bus for katmandu. The drinking sesion was funny, as the bar newly opend, we were the first customer. As the newly opend bar, menu and rates were not printed, everything we have to asked for the rates. And the rates were actually turn out to be very expensive. We thought the nepali currency we cheaper than the Indian currency, so everything vill be cheaper. But the case was different. All the prices were high, reason when we asked, the owner said, becoz all the materials and stuff like chips, biscuits ,liqiour, etc., comes from India, so the duty rates….. But the cost was still very high. Indian 100 means Nepali 160 rupres in conversation. Indian chips rs. 20 were selling there at 60 and boilled egg around 60… Liqour were reasonable. I dont know why. Anyways after our first experience we took the bus for katmandu.
Katmandu: We’re on the way, the journey was for 8hrs. We took breaks in between for chai and snacks. The night was getting freezing cold. We reached 6am in the morning. And as usual we saw the agents coming towards for hotels bookking. We didnt ahd any booking, so we had to go with them, to which we thought might be better. Finaly we board the hotel, after much of bargin and tojur decision, he offered us for indian rs 600 per day. The place was ok and there were no electricity in the city. Acutal from katmandu bus depo, we went to THAMEL, where all the place as reachable.
Pashupatinath temple: We got up in the morning for site seeing. Our first place was Pashupatinath and from there to Bhodnath-bhudish place. We saw the whole city by micro bus. (Their local vehicle for intercity). The places were very congested and polluted. In my opinion the city was not organised. Everybody is rushing for something. Even the food quality was bad. THe bad traffic, hectic. After whole day of site-seeing went back to hotel. Next day we decided to go chitwan, the jungle safari.
Next day as we decided, we got ready, but again guess wot, the Nepal again called for bandh. So our whole day ruined out. But we decided to checkout out hotel and take a walk in the city. since the a day was spoiled, we skipped chitwan, and decided to go to POKHARA.
POKHARA: Finally we got to see some good place. The place was good climate, good lakes and mountain to see. Our site-seeing was good was kalish mountain, snow – white mountain, u vill see in the pictures. Actually the place is divided in to two phase, one is to just relax and another is adventure. On e can do all kike of adventures like river rafting, paragliding, treking, etc…. There we stayed for one day only and to moved back to Grorakhpur. and back to mumbai
So whole trip was ok. My experience, is one time visit. and one should go only for trekking and mountaineering. and if some likes temple then, for temples too.
